Following the recent lockdown announcements, many of you will be feeling anxious about how to best support students over the coming weeks and months. We’re here to help your child to enjoy and master maths, whether that be in school or at home.

We’ll continue to produce daily ‘home learning’ lessons for Years 1-9. Every lesson comes with a short video showing you clearly and simply how to help your child complete the activity successfully.

How to use the WR Lessons

  1. Click on the set of lessons for your child’s year group.
  2. Watch the video (either on your own or with your child).
  3. Find a calm space where your child can work for about 20-30 minutes.
  4. Use the video guidance to support your child as they work through a lesson.

Online Learning Guidance

To access your online learning please revisit the National Oak Academy website. Please complete 1 hour of Maths and 1 hour of English every day. Then, you can choose a 1-hour non-core subject lesson e.g. Science, History or R.E. to do in the afternoon. Try to stick to your normal routine, e.g. wake up, have your breakfast, and begin your lessons at 9am. When you have completed your lessons, remember to practise your spellings, times tables and to read a wide range of books. It is also important to exercise and have ‘down’ time e.g. playing in the garden, riding a bike, painting, board games, cooking, drawing and playing on the computer.

Please keep all your work in a folder/wallet/book to return to school on the first day back.
